As entrepreneurs we are idea people, dreamers who love the idea of thinking about and exploring something new. But there comes a time when we need to stop talking about it and begin doing it.
Starting does not guarantee that everything you try will be a raging success (darnnit!!) but it has a much better chance of becoming one then if you just keep talking about the idea.
Starting is also one of the hardest steps. Talking is safer and usually a heck of a lot more fun. Talking generates new ideas to explore and research. Starting usually means more work and add-ons to an already long to-do list. But starting also helps you learn a few things:
- Is this something you are passionate about?
- Is it leading you to a new idea or opportunity?
- Is it fun or will it bring you joy?
- Will it extend or gain exposure for your business?
- Will it improve your health?
- Will it reduce stress in the long run?
Are there ideas you have been talking about a lot lately? Starting a new exercise program, reading a book, starting a Twitter account, starting a blog… any of these ring a bell? It’s time to stop talking about it and start doing it. Hey, it worked for Walt Disney right?!
