Is it your fight or God’s?

remainatrest

I’m including 2 different images and 3 different translations of this verse. I like them all but each one is stated slightly different and speaks to me differently. Let me know what you think in the comments below.

The part of each version that speaks to me is that “The Lord will fight for you”. That is an amazing thought and comfort in good times and in bad.

When we let God fight for us, what does that mean we do? That means we rest in his care – how awesome. When life gets so busy and the decisions that have to be made each day is overwhelming it is so easy to get tunnel vision thinking we have to do it ALL by ourselves. At that point, asking for help is probably a fleeting thought decide it is just faster to do it ourselves.

But what if we could stop doing all the fighting and striving and give it over to the Lord? How different would our lives be?

And check out the 2nd part of the verse.

In the Amplified Bible (above)  it says “hold your peace and remain at rest”

In the New International Version (below) it says “just stay calm”

And you gotta love The Message and it’s sometimes blunt translation “And you? You keep your mouths shut!”

What battle are you fighting right now that you need to let go of and let God fight on your behalf?

juststaycalm
