Photography, sharing the beauty of nature
My camera is always with me to capture the beauty from #AlongTheTrail. From walks on the beach, to daily morning walks with the Bailey, to hikes and adventures on the weekend, there is always something to photograph and share. There are #bestillmoments to be found.
When we learn to pick and choose what we say yes to and no to, in alignment with our priorities, life doesn’t necessarily get simpler. In fact, in some ways, it gets harder. To carefully pick your yeses and no’s you will have to turn down invitations from friends and great opportunities to keep what is important front and center. As I learn to choose my yes’s and no’s, I’ve been able to say yes more to my priority of spending time outdoors. Being in nature is my way of destressing, slowing down, and breathing deeply. I’m blessed where I am to be able to get to the Oregon Dunes, lakes … [Read More...]
Welcome 2017! 2016, you were an interesting year. Parts were good, bad, odd, funny, and scary. But isn't that often how every year goes? A bit of everything mixed in to varying degrees? As I move back into a regular blogging schedule I've decided to ease back in gently and share with you a rare gift here on the South Central Oregon Coast. Snow. And not just a light dusting either. Have you ever had one of those days or weeks where words seem to fail, creativity seems to fly out the window, and ideas may flow but fall flat? Well I have and this week has been one of them. So here are just a few thoughts to encourage you and resources for you to share and encourage someone else. Be Encouraged and Remember, You Are Not Alone. On the hard days, the great days, the stressed out and overwhelming days, the fun-filled days, the sick days, the … [Read More...]
There is so much negativity in the world, stress in our daily lives, and general craziness it is easy to stop looking for the little moments. So this post is just a reminder to take the time to find moments of beauty every day. These are from a trip to a cool place, "The Heirloom Rose Garden" in St. Paul, Oregon. Today in all the "what is it?" moments, turn me to give thanks for who You are. ~ Anne Voskamp The man who forgets to be thankful has fallen asleep in life. ~ Robert Louis Stevenson Find something that allows you to take a deep breath in the … [Read More...]
Spending time outside is such a gift. Being surrounded by grass, trees, flowers, bugs, and fresh air makes me realize, once again, how blessed I am to live in the Pacific Northwest. I’m also reminded that I am soooo not a city girl. I crave quiet mornings, the song of birds speaking to each other, and the opportunity to open windows and let the outside in. My morning walks with Bailey are an essential part of my day. It’s right up there with reading my Bible and breakfast! 🙂 When I miss any of these 3, my day just doesn’t work out the way it should. There comes a time, however, … [Read More...]
